Whenever we hear the word engineers the first thing that comes to most people’s minds are the massive buildings and bridges to the gigantic planes and rockets. However, most people are unaware of the tiny processors sometimes smaller than our fingertip, and do not realize the impact of those microprocessors in our day-to-day lives. We all are surrounded by microprocessors. From the alarm that wakes up us in the morning to the cell phone where we play deep sleep music during the night, we use multiple devices that consist of microprocessors in them. Through the road map that I designed for the engineering trips; people can learn how such a small processor are made. They will learn about the different processes that are involved in the manufacturing of those chips such as Masking, Etching, Deposition, and Lithography Doping. The road maps cover a wide range of engineering fields including manufacturing, aviation, and automation. However, a common thing that we can find in all those fields is the use of microprocessors, so people will learn how the field of computers relates to the other fields of engineering. One of the things that I learned from the field of computer engineering that I hadn’t expected to learn was how the invention of the microprocessor changed the way we as humans live. From the way we communicate and study to the way we shop, everything has been transformed by those tiny microprocessors. With the ever-growing demand for these microprocessors and the continuous development in the field of computation, these processors will continue to transform the lives of the people. With my education in computer engineering, I will one day contribute to this field by helping to make those chips smaller and more efficient.
